"This program is like a general-purpose Swiss Army knife for converting video files between formats in preparation for burning video discs. The emphasis is on creating files for DVD, VCD and Super VCD, but it also converts to and from other formats as well.

I didn't try all the capabilities and formats this program has, but for what I used it for, it did the job flawlessly. I used it for preparing video files for a DVD. It is easy to use and produces output files which will drop right into authoring and burning programs such as iDVD, DVD Studio Pro, Toast, Sizzle, etc.

The output files are compact in size yet still maintain good audio and video quality. This program ran without problems on my 4-year old G3 iMac - a major advantage, as some of the newer software requires a G4 or G5 processor.

The tech support from the developer of this program is far better than the average. The developer updates the program on a regular basis, to add features requested by customers or to fix the rare bug. The developer maintains an online forum where you can ask questions and he answers them quickly and helpfully. He is happy to share his knowledge and help you use the program for the purpose you need.

This program is really worth about $100, but he charges only $10 for it! An incredible bargain, in my opinion. Really, anyone who works with video on the Mac platform should have this program as part of their toolbox."

I mainly use it for demuxing mpgs for use in Sizzle, but have recently started using it for re-encoding old .avi videos I've got archived for DVD.
